10 Best Wrestling Tag Team Names Ever

9. The Vaudevillains

The newest team on the list, Aiden English and Simon Gotch came together in NXT as the Vaudevillains. English had been performing under the radar in NXT for some time, known for his drama school-esque singing before and after matches, but it wasn't until he was paired with the old timey-looking Simon Gotch that things took off for both men.

Their gimmick is that of Vaudeville-era throwbacks, representing that time of theatre and variety entertainment. A Vaudeville performer was often referred to as a 'Vaudevillian', and all it takes is a switching of two vowels towards the end of that word to get the perfect name for this gimmick.

It's the sort of name that ends all discussion when thinking of a tag team moniker for an old timey heel duo.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
