8. Best Friends
2020 was an incredible year for Best Friends... for the most part.
The former Pro Wrestling Guerrilla guys don't take themselves as seriously as some of the other pairings you'll find within these columns, and that's fine. It makes them stand out from the rest of the crop for more reasons than one. One week, you'll see them being driven to the ring by Trent's legitimate mother in what many would describe as a comedy act, whereas the next, they'll be tearing limbs off of The Superbad Death Squad.
There were three major instances throughout the year where 'The Kentucky Gentleman' and the former Dudebuster stepped up their game like never before; their title challenges, firstly against Kenny Omega and Adam Page, and then against FTR, as well as their Parking Lot Fight vs. Ortiz and Santana. The match against Omega and Page, in particular, truly brought out a new side of Chuckie T and Trenty B. That they were able to stand their ground in the hopes of being on the same level as the then-Elite duo really said something about them.
A run as the AEW World Tag Team Champions wouldn't go amiss for Best Friends, obviously, however, they're one of the few tandems in the company who have proven they don't need the titles to establish themselves as a solid duo.
