WWE relied on their champions in 2020 more than they ever have before. While everyone typically looks to Drew McIntyre as being a leading figure, and rightfully so, The Street Profits deserve the same sort of recognition for everyone they did to keep Raw's tag division afloat throughout the year.
Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins' frantic, energetic, and upbeat personalities keep you locked in. Even before 2020, the Profits had long been one of NXT's most promising tandems. They carry each other in a way. Dawkins lacks megastar charisma, whereas Ford has an abundance of the juices. As for Montez, he tends to fly all over the place as opposed to getting down and dirty, while Angelo can easily take an opponent off their feet with one touch.
Their rivalry against Zelina Vega's A-Team of Andrade, Austin Theory, and Angel Garza, while seemingly neverending, actually provided us with a whole host of entertaining tag matches that often got overlooked, solely because there so many of them. It's a fair criticism, sure, but when something has the potential to be so grand, you shouldn't always go straight for the negatives.
Now the team to beat on SmackDownd, Ford and Dawkins are continuing to thrive in every possible aspect on a week by week basis. It won't be long before people are considering them as one of WWE's greatest pairings of the modern generation, and, eventually, of all time.
