10 Best Wrestling Trilogies
7. Shawn Michaels Vs. Chris Jericho
2008 was supposed to be the year WWE went PG on us, yet this feud - each match more violent and personal in nature than the last - was anything but kid-friendly.
After a mild-mannered clash at Judgment Day, HBK and Y2J - who shared a similarly bitter rivalry five years earlier - got a bit more personal at The Great American Bash (incidentally, the last WWE show to carry a TV-14 rating), a match won by Jericho via technical knockout, after his opponent suffered an eye injury.
Two months later at Unforgiven, they fought in an unsanctioned street fight. Michaels scored the win, but Jericho walked out of the show the World Heavyweight Champion (it's a long story), in turn setting up a rubber ladder bout at No Mercy in October.
Expertly booked, expertly executed, this was wrestling at its very best.
