9. Who Are They? What Will Happen On 10/10/10?
Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff had come to TNA to help right the ship and carry the promotion forward. The company was in a transition period, and big long-time names like Sting and Nash were skeptical. Then, the monster Abyss began having premonitions that "they" were coming, and they would arrive on 10/10/10.
It grew to become one of the bigger TNA mysteries of the Spike TV era, and when the reveal arrived at Bound for Glory 2010, it was, among other things, confusing.
As everyone expected, Hogan and Bischoff turned heel (alongside Jeff Jarrett, because of course he had to be involved in the main event storyline). And if things had stopped there, it would have been one of the most underwhelming reveals in a long time.
But someone else also turned heel: Jeff Hardy.
The heel faction Immortal was born, and Jeff Hardy embarked on his Antichrist title run. The faction soon ballooned NWO-style and floundered under its own weight, and Jeff would unveil the ugliest world title in history.
But this was one whodunit where nobody saw the twist coming.
