Sticking with TNA and a mysterious faction attempting to seize power, the masked biker group Aces & Eights emerged in June of 2012, immediately targeting Sting and Hulk Hogan, before moving on to other TNA stalwarts like Austin Aries, Kurt Angle, and others.

Although the "struggle for power" storyline in TNA had been done to absolute death at this point, the masked element added a little something to the story. It was implied that the masked men had ties to TNA and those they attacked, which offered an intriguing whodunit element.

Naturally, this was squandered by staffing Aces & Eights with jobbers and undercard names. Devon was the biggest reveal, and they gave him up first. Later reveals of Mike Knox, D'Lo Brown, and Garret Bischoff underwhelmed.

Of course, that all could have been saved with a huge, mind-blowing reveal for the secret leader of Aces & Eights.

Instead, TNA went for the Russo swerve and picked Bully Ray, who had been feuding with the bikers for seemingly forever. By the time he was revealed as the president of Aces & Eights, the storyline had been going for nearly nine months.

And it would limp on for another seven months.
