10 Best WWE Championship Reigns Of The 2000s
5. Eddie Guerrero (February-June 2004)
Much like JBL (whom he would go on to lose the belt to), Eddie Guerrero had spent most of his WWE career prior to 2004 as a tag team and midcard guy.
That all changed when Eddie stepped into the ring against Brock Lesnar at No Way Out. With all the grit and determination of a true champion, Guerrero lied, cheated, and stole his way to a famous title win, unseating The Next Big Thing all by himself... well, unless you count the massive assist that Goldberg gave him.
Latino Heat's next challenge came at WrestleMania XX, where he beat Kurt Angle in one of the best title matches in the show's history. Then his programme with JBL began, leading to an incredibly bloody match at Judgment Day, before this wild ride came to an end at The Great American Bash.
He wasn't booked to be the strongest or the best in-ring, but Eddie was always entertaining as champion and always found a way to get the audience on his side, even if his antics weren't strictly within the parameters of the WWE rulebook.
