10 Best WWE Character Arcs Since Last Year's WrestleMania
6. Finn Bálor (Middling Demon To Reborn Prince)
Finn Bálor in full 'Demon' guise appeared to be back on the rise after bullying Bobby Lashley for the Intercontinental title at 'Mania 35.
Yet, all of that demonic hype quickly dispersed when Bálor embarked on an uninspiring reign as the mid-card champion and by the time he'd lost the belt to Shinsuke Nakamura at Extreme Rules, he'd been well and truly shuffled back into the WWE pack.
In a professional rut, Bálor's luck (what was left of it) on the main roster would finally run out when he came face to face with Bray Wyatt's 'The Fiend' for the first time on an episode of Raw. Bálor was then thoroughly killed at SummerSlam by 'The Fiend'... or at least, the Bálor we'd grown tired of was.
After a few months off television, Bálor popped back up on NXT to the sound of rapturous approval.
Yet, something was different. Gone were the forced smiles and colourful attires. In their place was a stoic, merciless reincarnation of Bálor's former self, Prince Devitt.
Matt Riddle and Johnny Gargano were the first two big names to fall to this reborn superstar and another run as NXT Champion now feels inevitable.
Whatever comes next for 'Prince' Bálor, this version is absolutely unrecognisable from the stop-start 'Demon' that left MetLife stadium last year.
