10 Best WWE Extreme Rules Matches Ever

9. Chris Jericho vs Rey Mysterio (2009)

Chris Jericho went into this match at his obnoxious-heel best. Berating Rey Mysterio in the build for wearing a mask, he was going to stop at nothing to reveal Rey's face to the world - so he'd finally stop hiding away. Jericho posed as a Mysterio fan bearing a mask in the crowd on a prior SmackDown, duping the at the time Intercontinental Champion into an unsuspecting attack in the entrance way. The pair squared off in a No Holds Barred match, but put on a wrestling clinic you'd have expected off two guys as experienced and close as this. Y2J clutched at Mysterio's mask throughout the match to continue the story, but it was generally full of excellent spots. Mysterio's leap through the ropes was death-defying, while some last-minute Jericho counters took the breath away. It was one final counter that would decide the match too - as Jericho snuck out of a 619 and ripped the mask off in the process. Jericho took advantage of the shock and rolled up Mysterio to take the Intercontinental Championship.
