While it's Raven who holds the record for the most Hardcore Title reigns, former MMA star Steve Blackman is the guy who has held the thing for the longest period of time. He carried it for a combined 172 days - 18 more than Big Boss Man in second.

Does this pointless piece of trivia, by itself, make him one of the division's greatest ever exponents? Not necessarily, but his various runs - six, in total - with the belt weren't exactly short of incident either.

They included, for example, the frankly ridiculous Street Fight he fought with Shane McMahon at SummerSlam 2001, a match famous for the fact that it involved Vince's little boy falling about 20 feet from the event's stage onto the "concrete floor" below.

That, to be fair, is less Blackman's accomplishment than it is Shane's - but the former showed guts of a kind most of us can only fantasise about when he stood halfway up the scaffolding bashing his opponent's back with a kendo stick.

For that, he's well worth his place.
