Pete Dunne spoiling everyone's good time at January's UK Championship Tournament simply has to take the mantle of best heel moment of the year.

In kayfabe terms, it was a truly dastardly act. Not only had Dunne laid out one of his rivals in order to bolster his own chances of taking top prize, he had also threatened to undermine the integrity of the entire show.

The whole thing was brilliantly acted, too. Dunne's brilliantly menacing facial expressions. The reactions of the horrified wrestlers at the top of the entrance ramp. Best of all: the chilling stare-down that ensued between William Regal and the man who had just pulled a trick right from his own play-book.

Without this segment, it's likely that the tournament as a whole would have struggled to generate the sort of buzz that it eventually did. Moreover, there's no way that Dunne would be getting spoken about in the same glowing terms as he currently is.

The 24-year-old announced himself on the world stage and became a star in an instant - that's an outcome that only a handful of segments in WWE history can match.
