10 Best WWE Heel Moments Of 2017

9. Sami's Turn

Of all the heel turns in 2017, Sami Zayn's was arguably the most significant. It has transformed him from a SmackDown also-ran into one of the brand's figureheads, around whom arguably the most compelling WWE storyline of the year is currently being fashioned.

As for the moment itself, it was such a weasel move on the part of the Underdog From The Underground, who popped up in the dying seconds of the match to pull Kevin Owens out of harm's way and, in the process, nearly kill Shane McMahon.

The execution, if we're being honest, could have been a little better. Shane came tumbling from the top of the cell at such a speed that Sami couldn't quite link arms with KO quick enough for it to actually look like the former US Champ wasn't dragging himself up of his own accord.

Still, you've got to give WWE credit for coming up with a match ending that very few people saw coming, and even more credit must go to the man formerly known as El Generico, who is so far surpassing all expectations in his new role. More of the same in 2018, please.
