Needless to say, this segment did absolutely no favours for Bayley, who - after being humiliated at the hands of her opponent on Raw - actually went on to lose their subsequent Women's Championship match a week later at Extreme Rules.

For Alexa Bliss, however, it was perhaps the moment that she established herself as the top heel in the Monday night female division, taking over the mantle from Charlotte after the pair switched places in the post-WrestleMania Superstar Shake-Up.

It was cringe-inducing and uncomfortable to watch, yes, but, rightly or wrongly, that was precisely what they were going for. The self-proclaimed Goddess of WWE did exactly what she was supposed to do by turning her much-loved opponent into a complete joke in front of the entire world.

The blame for what came after that - namely Bayley coming to the ring on the verge of tears, having taken everything that she had just heard to heart - shouldn't really be laid at the feet of Bliss, unless we're going to start chastising someone for simply being too good a heel.
