10 Best WWE Hidden Gems In 2018
4. Dolph Ziggler Vs. Kurt Angle (Crown Jewel)
Next up is is (shhhhhh) Saudi Arabia take two.
Crown Jewel will forever be remembered as a curious event in WWE history. For what has to be the first time in living memory, the promotion deliberately failed to advertise where the card was emanating from amidst much controversy, and so the show had less hype and shine than GRR going in.
That's a shame considering it marked the return of Shawn Michaels and carried a first-ever meeting between Kurt Angle and Dolph Ziggler. This was a match the legend badly wanted; in interviews, Kurt had consistently mentioned Dolph as someone he was aching to wrestle following his WWE comeback in 2017. Now, he had his wish.
It may have only lasted eight minutes and been lost on an 11-match card (12 if the pre-show is included), but Angle looked fired up to be in there with Ziggler and the pair traded some neat amateur sequences. Here, they showed the potential for a higher-profile rematch down the stretch.
