10 Best WWE In Your House Matches EVER

6. Stone Cold Steve Austin Vs Dude Love (Over The Edge: In Your House)

Both the template and the immaculate execution of how best to book a Stone Cold Steve Austin/Attitude Era main event that - in spite of all the chaos and violence - protected the company's golden goose thanks to his fragile neck and knees, the Over The Edge main event highlighted the brilliance of using Mr McMahon as 'The Rattlesnake's real foil rather than any single heel opponent.

A sh*tkicking brawl between Austin and Dude Love betters their bruising effort from the prior month thanks to the bells and whistles in and around the ring. McMahon installs himself as guest referee and Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco as ring announcer and timekeeper respectively before The Undertaker decks them both at ringside to pledge partial loyalty to the Champion on this night so he can get the next shot.

Mick Foley gives his body to the cause of course, with the sort of mid-match violence that'd now pass as a finish, but this was this was the time to monetise those risks. He was a month away from the Hell In A Cell bump that would change his life and career, as if the brain-rattling chair shots here weren't enough.

This match just does not stop, much like the organisation's inexorable rise back to the top of the industry at the time.
