10 Best WWE Last Man Standing Matches

2. Edge Vs. John Cena - Backlash 2009

Edge's rivalry with John Cena lasted for over three years and it seems like they had every kind of stipulation match possible. This was billed as Edge's last chance at Cena, who walked in as the World Heavyweight Champion. Going into it, a lot of us figured that Cena was going to win it and that would be the end of the rivalry once and for all. That's not what happened even though there were many times where it looked like Cena would emerge victorious. The best way to describe it was as a wild brawl. They battled in the ring, they went through tables, they brawled into the crowd, up the aisles, into the concession area and back to the arena. Edge was perfect as the crafty heel and Cena kept on fighting back with the heart of a champion. Like a lot of Last Man Standing matches, there was interference at the end of this one too. Big Show ended up showing up, attacking Cena and giving him a Chokeslam into a lighting structure. That ended up costing Cena the match. The finish is what people are going to remember more than anything because it's not like you see a guy getting Chokeslammed into a lighting structure very often. However, their work in this nearly 30 minute battle should be applauded because of how exciting it was. Their chemistry was amazing and it showed in this classic.
