1. Chris Benoit Vs Triple H Vs Shawn Michaels - Backlash 2004 (Edmonton)
WWE.comWhat a match this was. Triple H, Shawn Michaels and Chris Benoit are three of the best of all time, and were at their very peak in the spring of 2004. They had just came off one of the best matches ever, the triple threat main event of WrestleMania 20, and at Backlash they would contest the rematch. What made this sequel even more special was that it emanated from Benoit's hometown of Edmonton, Canada. Another factor was that Shawn Michaels was a full on heel here, still resented for the controversy over Montreal '97. In an absolutely perfect ending, Benoit made HBK tap out to none other than Bret Hart's patented sharpshooter. The crowd went crazy and it almost felt like a sort of WWE apology for seven years previous. Canada had got its revenge! Immediately after the winning bell, the camera pans to Nancy Benoit at ringside. That's the bittersweet point of the match, we see Benoit cheered on by the wife and child who he would murder just a few years later. He ends the show draped in a Canadian flag, having just put on the best match ever to happen in Canada... sadly that legacy for many people was destroyed by the 2007 double murder suicide.
