10 Best WWE Matches Of 1997

8. Bret Hart Vs. The Undertaker (One Night Only)

Not the most famous match on the show, since Davey Boy Smith jobbing in his native land under dubious circumstances was surely going to grab headlines. The best actual match of the night goes to Hart's WWE Championship defense against Undertaker, doing away with the increasing tropes of story-based wrestling and just worked a match, period.

Between Hart working Undertaker's legs with surgical precision, and Undertaker using his power to swat away Hart during his gamesmanship phases, the two pulled off a half-hour classic, only marred by a disqualification finish. With an ending, it's potentially better than Undertaker's match with Michaels at WrestleMania XXV, which is high praise indeed.

Dig Undertaker busting out a heart punch, which was called a Flatliner Fist when he used it as a finisher earlier in his career.
