When Amy 'Lita' Dumas stood mid-ring during the WrestleMania 32 Kickoff show to present the new WWE Women's Title, it felt like a watershed moment. Doing away with the old Divas Title, WWE were determined to present females as equal to their male counterparts. Something like that has to be encouraged.

This wasn't an ill-fated decision either: Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, and Charlotte Flair are amongst the best performers WWE have on their books nowadays. On the main WrestleMania card in front of a staggeringly large crowd (somewhere between 93,000-100,000 fans), that trio of women delivered in the biggest way.

Facing off in a Triple Threat match to crown the inaugural Women's Champ, Banks, Lynch, and Charlotte did things that had never been seen in female WWE matches before. Not only that, they were also handed over 16 minutes to work with, a stark contrast to the scant six minutes a female tag bout had been given one year earlier at 'Mania 31.

A match for the history books, the Women's Title Triple Threat was a credit to WWE in 2016. More of this please.
