Dolph Ziggler will perhaps never become the true main event-level player many hoped he would several years ago. Despite being a two-time World Champion, Ziggler has never been allowed permanent residence at the top of the card. That doesn't stop him from producing the goods when WWE need him to though.

Never was this more evident than at No Mercy in October. Opposing The Miz and trying to win the Intercontinental Title, Dolph's career was on the line in this particular Ladder Match. Following on from a disappointing WWE Title clash against Dean Ambrose at SummerSlam, Ziggler looked like he was out to prove a point.

Part of the reason why this match doesn't rank higher is because WWE failed to capitalise on Ziggler's big win. Just over a full month later, Ziggler dropped the Intercontinental Title back to Miz on an episode of SmackDown.

Viewed as a standalone match however, the No Mercy effort is a sterling example of what can be achieved when talented wrestlers are let loose.
