10 Best WWE Matches Of 2019 (So Far)

8. Men's MITB Ladder Match (Money In The Bank)

Finn Balor's spinal column died for our sins at Money In The Bank 2019. The hyper-athletic Irishman partook in all kinds of risky back bumps that night, with his muscled frame bouncing off the ladders on more than one occasion. That he was able to walk out on his own without suffering at least a minor injury was borderline miraculous, and that Michael Cole sold the escalating risks with incredulity, not "OMG LOOK AT THESE SPOTZ!" amplified everything.

The men's MITB ladder match was both one of the best this gimmick has yielded in years and a microcosm of WWE's company-wide booking issues. Rising stars like Ali, Andrade, and Ricochet worked their backsides off and took insane risks for their art, only for Brock Lesnar to show up and take the victory at the end. 'The Beast Incarnate's' arrival was a huge surprise. It elicited the right response, particularly as Ali was just millimetres away from claiming the briefcase as his own, though it felt like another troll move.

Such is one of the biggest problems with today's WWE: you regularly have to disregard the booking to appreciate the best matches, even wonderful spotfests like this.
