10 Best WWE Matches Of 2019 (So Far)
6. AJ Styles Vs. Seth Rollins (Money In The Bank)
There was no way AJ Styles vs. Seth Rollins was ever going to fail. The build was dry throughout, but it wouldn't matter by the time Money In The Bank rolled around. That two of the consensus best wrestlers in the company were finally going to go toe-to-toe was all the audience needed to get hyped, and the popular duo lived up to their expectations with a ripping singles match that dropped many a big bomb, but still left a few in the chamber for next time.
This was a very Rollins match. It's not that he outshone AJ (both were tremendous throughout), but the layout and pacing were reminiscent of almost every big bout he has had over the past few years, with its big move shootouts, flowing counters, and a glut of dramatic nearfalls. It was the closest thing to an old-school action movie that two WWE wrestlers have delivered all year. Coupled with Seth's increased aggression on offence, the duo's creative reversals and transitions elevated it to a level above their usual standards.
Here's hoping we get round two before 2019 ends.
