Among the few enjoyable byproducts of the Authority vs. babyfaces storyline were Dusty Rhodes standing up to the nefarious script-readers, and his sons fighting for their jobs against the paid mercenaries of The Shield. Battleground as an event ranks among the worst WWE pay-per-views of all time, and this match is virtually the sole reason to fire it up on WWE Network.
It was old school tag team wrestling at its finest, with babyfaces worth cheering on as they valiantly fought forces of evil. Through two heat segments, Rhodes and Goldust were virtually the biggest heroes in the building, tied with their old man, who whipped Dean Ambrose with his belt to even more cheers. When Rhodes landed his Cross-Rhodes for the finish, the show had firmly been stolen.
