2015 may have seen WWE television hit something of a rut, but the third brand of the company went from strength to strength to strength. NXT was always threatening to run away from RAW and SmackDown in terms of consistency and quality, and 2015 was the year this came true. At the start of the year, Sami Zayn held the NXT Championship but his redemptive run was overshadowed by the large dark cloud that was his best friend, Kevin Owens. You could compile a list of great matches from these specials alone, all of this without mentioning the weekly product NXT puts out. 2016 should be pretty special. Before we get there however, here are the 10 best NXT matches of 2015...

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
