10 Best WWE PPV Endings Ever

1. WWF Defeat WCW - Survivor Series 2001

The Alliance storyline between the WWE, WCW and ECW is one of the most dramatically enthralling storylines in the history of professional wrestling. There were more twists than you could shake a stick at, with men defecting to either side all the way through the rivalry - including some absolutely huge stars The culmination of the feud came at Survivor Series 2001, with Team WWE taking on Team Alliance in a traditional Survivor Series match. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin was arguably the biggest defector in the weeks leading up to the match, as he turned his back on the WWE to join Shane McMahon's faction, who were bidding to take control of the WWE. It came down to Austin and The Rock at the end of the match, with Austin going desperately close to sending the WWE out of business on several occasions with some real near misses. However, the ending provided a huge twist - perhaps the biggest twist of all, in fact - as one member of The Alliance helped guide the WWE to victory. Kurt Angle - a guy who had been incredibly outspoken about the WWE since defecting to the Alliance in the weeks prior to the event - emerged from the back, with many believing he was about to help Austin win. After all, he had only just been eliminated by The Rock minutes before coming back out. However, he nailed him with the WWE Championship, and The Rock subsequently picked up the victory. Everything about the ending of that show was memorable; from Vince McMahon standing at the top of the ramp to Paul Heyman's expression on commentary after the contest. it was the culmination of a sensational feud that included almost every wrestler in the WWE, and it gave birth to a whole new clutch of stars starting out with the company, including the likes of Booker T. It was a brilliant ending, and a hugely significant moment in wrestling history.
