It'd take one hell of a moment later this year to top Daniel Bryan's in-ring return at WrestleMania 34.

Simply seeing Bryan, a man who was forced to retire as an active wrestler just a few years ago, back in his happy place tugged at the heart strings. Here was a man who loves pro wrestling every bit as the people plonking down money to watch it, arguably even more so, and he was able to show it in New Orleans.

Shane McMahon, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn weren't the real story at 'Mania. As good as they all are as individual performers, they were mere backup as Bryan roared back from the brink to take his rightful place back inside a WWE ring. Similarly, the match itself was functional at best, but people would have lost their minds to see Daniel perform just a handful of rudimentary spots; it was the story that had people captivated.

This, four years on from his crowning moment in the same building at 'Mania XXX, was a celebration of Daniel Bryan's dedication, refusal to quit on his dreams and touching return to action. Over to you, second half of 2018. Living up to this will be quite the task.
