10 Best WWE Promo Guys Of The Attitude Era

3. Chris Jericho

WWEWWEThe Ayatollah of Rock 'n' Rolla had one of the fastest mouths in the WWE. Jumping from WCW where he first got attention with his combination of impressive technical ability and a love-to-hate motormouth sarcastic whiny heel character, a series of vignettes with a clock countdown announced his arrival on Monday Night Raw. He made his debut with a bang, interrupting none other than The Rock and immediately trading verbal barbs with him, making it clear to the fans that Y2J was here to make an impact. He soon entered into feuds with Chyna over the Intercontinental Title before turning face and feuding with both Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle. In a similar manner to The Rock's face turn, he didn't change his character much, he just directed his wit more towards his opponent and not at the crowd. Another verbal sparring partner of note is Stephanie McMahon, with whom he had great chemistry and was even managed by her in a feud with Triple H at one point. Jericho still appears on WWE TV to this day where his in-ring acumen and excellent verbal skills help put over young upcoming stars whilst keeping him relevant and loved by the crowd.
