The 2006 edition of Unforgiven was without doubt the best in its history. The pay-per-view was a night of memorable moments, including a main event that ended with one of the biggest bumps the company had ever seen. This was the last WWE pay-per-view in Toronto for over a decade, and what a way to go out.

John Cena once again stood tall at the end of the show, a sight which became a frequent occurrence on RAW in the mid 2000s. Edge was his challenger here, and it was Edge that Cena dropped through a stack of tables to win their Tables, Ladders and Chairs match. The finish was accentuated by a great call from Jim Ross, who screamed "God, don’t do this John!" in his own inimitable style.

Trish Stratus won gold in her final singles match, defeating Lita for the WWE Women’s Championship in her home town. The show also featured one of the first memorable RKO’s ‘Outta Nowhere’, as Randy Orton caught Carlito in mid-air as the Puerto Rican tried to deliver a springboard, well, nothing.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
