10 Best WWE Roster "Shake-Up" Moves

2. Dolph Ziggler To SmackDown (2009)

When the former caddy-turned-cheerleader ended up on Raw in the autumn of 2008, Ziggler's new gimmick consisted of him introducing himself to people, before arrogantly walking away. That lame quirk didn't provide much upward mobility for Ziggler, and he was cast off to SmackDown in the April 2009 reorganization.

The move did wonders for Ziggler, as he would be working in good matches with Rey Mysterio and John Morrison for the Intercontinental belt within months. Ziggler's spring-loaded bumps and his energetic screen presence promised better days ahead, something not at all evident when he was foundering in the shuffle on Raw. The move to SmackDown allowed Ziggler to quickly prove his worth, and he would spend a chunk of the next several years as a quasi-main eventer, reaping the rewards of that work.
