10 Best WWE Roster "Shake-Up" Moves
1. Cody Rhodes To SmackDown (2010)
As a part of Legacy, Rhodes was pretty much the third wheel: its shortest member, and the one with seemingly the least-promising long-term prospects. WWE officials looked to be higher on Ted DiBiase, as evidenced by his role in one of their Marine movies, as well as a pay-per-view pinfall of Randy Orton. When the three men had their triple threat match at WrestleMania XXVI, Rhodes entered to his generic stock music, while DiBiase retained their cooler Adelita's Way theme song.
Rhodes ventured over to SmackDown in 2010, where he was repackaged as a preening narcissist with a punchable smile. That only scratched the surface of his true potential, which was revealed after Rey Mysterio bashed his kisser with a bulky knee brace. Rhodes' character then descended into madness, blending Patrick Bateman with The Phantom of the Opera, and used that momentum to push his way up the card. DiBiase meanwhile sputtered out as a shadow of his father's Million Dollar Man persona, and was out of the business by 2013's end.
