10 Best WWE Royal Rumble Commercials Ever

6. 2003

Let the silliness begin. The advert for the 2003 Royal Rumble was a play on the 30-men inside the ring trope, one that never actually happens in a Royal Rumble.

The British and the Americans do battle in this commercial, although the battle takes place inside the squared circle as opposed to a hill somewhere in Nebraska. Saying that, this looks like a ring set up in Nebraska, so that could still be accurate. The opposing armies hit each other with trash cans and chairs, as well as a fairly interesting ladder to a trash can spot, before incurring the wrath of an extremely disappointed onlooker.

None other than 2017 WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle is on the outside, lamenting the spectacle he sees in front of him. With two old timers in his grip he tells the throngs, 'no wonder you lost the freakin' war'. It is extremely silly, but Angle was always better at playing silly than most.

Whilst it might not be a great commercial for the event itself, the entertainment factor is high with this one.

Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
