Triple H is a Royal Rumble veteran, and has competed in eight Rumble matches over his career. He actually won the Rumble in 2002 to a huge ovation, but his best performance came a few years later in 2006, even though he didnt win. In the mid-2000s Triple H was at the peak of his power trip and was portrayed as the unbeatable king of Monday Night Raw a lot of the time. Triple H took time off in mid-2005, and after returning in October of that year to feud with his mentor Ric Flair, it looked likely that a second Royal Rumble victory would catapult him back towards the World Heavyweight Championship. He entered the 06 Rumble at #1, and lasted just over an hour at sixty minutes and nine seconds. Over the course of that hour, he eliminated five other competitors before he was himself eliminated second-to-last by eventual winner and #2 entrant, Rey Mysterio. Overall, even though he only ever won the one, Triple H will go down as one of the greatest Royal Rumble participants. He ranks fifth on the list of combined eliminations with twenty eight total, and has the record for most cumulitive time spent in a Rumble, at three hours, fifty-one minutes and thirty-two seconds.
