10 Best WWE Royal Rumble Performances Ever

7. Kane - 2001

When it comes to Royal Rumbles and battle royals, the super-heavyweights are always portrayed as being a huge threat and odds-on favourites to win. The reality a lot of the time is that they mostly exist as a hurdle to be overcome, an impressive feat on someone else€™s resume, and rarely get their moment in the sun. In the 2001 Royal Rumble, comedian Drew Carey entered the match to an empty ring as The Hardy Boyz eliminated each other. His fun didn€™t last for long, as Kane was the next entrant, and after Carey€™s attempts to pay off The Big Red Monster, the comedian hoisted himself over the top rope to safety. Kane went on to have one of the more impressive Rumble performances ever, as he eliminated a record breaking eleven men during his fifty-three minutes in the ring. Kane€™s domination of the Royal Rumble match is one of the most fondly remembered and his record stood for over ten years, before finally being broken in 2014. Unfortunately though, like most big men in a battle royal scenario his achievement existed mostly to make Steve Austin€™s eventual elimination of him that more impressive. Even though Kane didn€™t win, the 2001 Rumble helped his career greatly and solidified Kane as a character on his own outside of the mythos of his brother, The Undertaker.
