Canada is always an interesting place to watch a Shawn Michaels match. Always unforgiving due to the events of Survivor Series 1997, whether heel or babyface, Canadian crowds refuse to do anything but boo and jeer the Heartbreak Kid.

Chris Benoit had his homecoming at this PPV and so, the capacity Edmonton crowd were behind him. In the highlight package for the match, the city of Edmonton recognised that day as ‘Chris Benoit Day' in acknowledgement of his monumental victory at WrestleMania XX.

It is always debated, which Benoit, Triple H, Michaels triple threat is better: the WrestleMania XX match, or the following month’s one?

When you consider the unanimous support for the then-beloved Benoit and the undying, unflinching, unified hatred for the man who put Bret in the Sharpshooter back in 1997, it is indisputable that this is the best match from that year.
