WWE Smackdown is often a show which is overlooked by many pro wrestling fans nowadays. In fairness to those people, the broadcast is often one glossed over by the people booking it. There are hopes that WWE will start to show Smackdown a little more love when the show switches over to the USA Network in January, 2016. 2015 was another year during which the 'blue brand' struggled to really retain any sense of relevancy. Arguably, Smackdown hasn't been the same since the brand extension was abolished and WWE started simply having stars appear across all weekly programming. Proper storyline development can be hard to find, but that doesn't mean that the actual in-ring action has suffered. For years, the brand was considered the 'wrestling' show in the WWE cannon, because less attention was paid to it by the McMahon family when compared to Monday Night Raw.
