10 Best WWE Survivor Series Grand Finales That Didn’t Happen

1. 1988 - Can Three Huge Stars Overcome The Odds?

Faces: Randy Savage, Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior Heels: Mr. Perfect, Dino Bravo, Warlord, The Barbarian Look at the names on the babyface side. It doesn't get any bigger than that in the late 1980s WWE. Savage was the WWE Champion for the first time (the heel turn came a few months later), Hogan was his best buddy and still the most popular wrestler on the roster and Warrior was obviously being groomed as a future main eventer. Mr. Perfect was one of the best heels in WWE although he was still fairly new at this point. Bravo was always pushed as a solid midcarder and then the Powers of Pain duo of Warlord and Barbarian would bring the power (and the pain). They weren't the best heels in WWE at that time, but they would have still comprised an impressive foursome. It was no surprise that Savage and Hogan were survivors on their Mega Powers-led team against a heel team that had the evil Red Rooster on it! Warrior dominated his match by getting the final two pinfalls in a decisive manner. On the heel side, the Powers of Pain were the surprising winners of a 20 man Tag Team elimination match that was very unique. Then there were Perfect and Bravo who teamed up as part of a team with Andre the Giant on it against a Jim Duggan-led face team. The thought of Savage, Hogan and Warrior on the same team would have been like catnip to the crowd. How I Would Have Booked It: It has to be the clean sweep win for the trio of Warrior, Savage and Hogan. That's the easy call. An alternative way to do it would be to have Savage get eliminated due to some accidental move by Hogan as a way to tease the Savage heel turn that happened a few months after this. However, I think it would have been smarter to have the faces dominate because that's what their characters should do. That's it for our adventure in fantasy booking land. It's a shame that WWE didn't do the grand finale idea more often because it would have produced a lot of great moments and memories, at least if this list is anything to go by.
