10 Best WWE Survivor Series Grand Finales That Didn’t Happen

9. 1997 - Ken Shamrock Fights On His Own

Faces: Ken Shamrock Heels: Road Dogg & Billy Gunn (New Age Outlaws), The Interrogator (Kurrgan), The British Bulldog This is another match where it would have been one face going it alone against multiple heels. The Outlaws were really gaining momentum as a tag team by this point as the survivors of a match filled with tag teams. The Interrogator was a bad in-ring performer, partly because of his massive size and lack of actual athleticism. Of course WWE booked him strong in a match also featuring the Disciples of Apocalypse. The unique thing about this show is that Bulldog was cheered in Montreal that night because he was part of the Hart Foundation stable, but he was a heel for most of 1997 and would be put on the heel team. He survived on Team Canada (even though he was British) against Team USA. Shamrock was really starting to gain momentum as a face by this point. He was still fairly new to in-ring competition in WWE, yet he had a good grasp of things and was improving all the time. He was the lone survivor in a match where he teamed with the Legion of Doom and Ahmed Johnson against the Nation of Domination. How I Would Have Booked It: Shamrock gets the win by eliminating Bulldog at the end. Since Shamrock headlined the next PPV against WWE Champion Shawn Michaels, this would have really elevated him to that next level in the eyes of the fans. It could be used as a spot to elevate the Outlaws as a team, but Shamrock looking like a superstar would have been the better call.
