Last year's main event offered all the physicality of the Lesnar-Goldberg 2016 clash with the added benefit of being a slugfest AND a chess match.

Representing RAW was WWE Champion Drew McIntyre, who rose to prominence in the last calendar year following victories at the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania, vanquishing Brock Lesnar on both occasions and forcing him into hiatus. Fighting out of the blue corner was Roman Reigns, the man who had returned from his own self-imposed exile with renewed vigor after five and a half years of attempting the same.

On the night that the legendary 30-year career of the Undertaker met its final curtain (at least so far), then-WWE Champion McIntyre and Reigns, whose Universal Championship run enters its 448th day at this year's PPV, went to war to determine 'The Head of the Table' in The Deadman's absence. For nearly 25 minutes, Drew and Roman unloaded the entirety of their respective arsenals. Ring steps, barricades and announcer's tables would all be claimed as collateral damage, but continuing with the chess analogy, it would take a hidden gambit by Reigns to break the stalemate.

When Claymores and Spears weren't enough, 'The Tribal Chief' put his proverbial finger on the scale. A well-timed distraction from Jey Uso and a low blow later, The Scottish Warrior invoked William Wallace himself and succumbed to the Guillotine.

It's not their first meeting, it's definitely not their last, but until their next clash in front of a live crowd, it's easily their best.
