You would expect a tag team featuring two performers as physically and athletically gifted as Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas to be a success but at one point, the two former amateur wrestling stand-outs could rightfully claim to be The World's Greatest Tag Team. Benjamin and Haas were no strangers to the doubles ranks before debuting on Smackdown in December 2002. Benjamin had formed the Minnesota Stretching Crew with Brock Lesnar in OVW and Charlie Haas had teamed with his Brother Russ before he tragically died of a heart attack in 2001. The World's Greatest Tag Team learned quickly under the guidance of Kurt Angle and contested some very good matches against Los Guerreros, Chris Benoit, Edge and Brock Lesnar before separating from Angle in mid-2003. From there, Haas and Benjamin continued putting on good matches and had a show-stealer against the team of Rey Mysterio and Billy Kidman at Vengeance 2003. The team would split in March 2004 when Benjamin was drafted to Raw but would later reform in 2006 and have some tremendous matches with The Hardy Boys. Post-WWE, TWGTT moved on to Ring of Honor and the indies and still proved they could go against just about anyone in the world.
