Always the bridesmaids and never the brides, The Rockers have to be considered the number one tag team in WWE history that never got a run with the belts.
The team of Marty Jannetty and Shawn Michaels were one of the most innovative pairings of the late '80s, ushering in a new era with their synchronised offence and high-flying arsenal. The Rockers' famous breakup would also mark one of the most iconic moments in the history of the sport, and begin Michaels' ascent to superstardom.
Unfortunately for The Rockers, their stint in the WWF just happened to coincide with one of the deepest tag-team divisions in company history, leaving them around the middle of the pack for much of their run. However, the pair did get the chance to lift the titles, even if they are not in the record books; during their victory over the Heart Foundation, the top rope snapped and the match was never aired.
Despite this, the pair did at least get some recognition for their talents together as they had previously twice held the AWA Tag Team Championship as the Midnight Rockers.
