Throwing together two non-specifically foreign performers to create an anti-American tag-team has always been a favourite trope of professional wrestling, but it was perhaps at its most prevalent back in the gimmick-heavy era of the early 1990s.

The Orient Express were prime examples of this, comprising of Sato and Tanaka, and managed by the villainous Mr Fuji, the pair served as mid-card punching bags for almost the entirety of their run in the company.

A feud with Legion of Doom saw the team regularly jobbed out in favour of their much larger opposition without really getting chance to showcase what made them so great in the ring.

Despite their heelish status, The Orient Express' technical prowess as a team allowed them to have some of the more fast-paced and exciting matches in a tag-team division that was predominantly filled with hulking hosses, including some truly classic bouts with the team that is featured at number 1 on this list...
