Okay, let's try and ignore the awful racism of their gimmick and focus on the positives. Cryme Tyme were a wildly popular tag team in World Wrestling Entertainment between 2006 and 2010, and if you don't think they deserve that qualifier I suggest you go back and watch some of their segments. JTG and Shad Gaspard portrayed awfully OTT racial stereotypes, but the audience absolutely loved them.

They always seemed to be on the cusp of success too, success that never came around. This is pretty baffling in truth, as they competed at a time when the tag division was at an all time low. They won a four-way in their PPV debut against the Highlanders, Charlie Haas & Viscera and Cade & Murdoch, if you're wondering just how stacked the division was at that time.

They would have a fun little feud with John Morrison & The Miz, but WWE always seemed somewhat unwilling to go all the way with the duo. This is puzzling, and the closest they came to winning the straps was a losing effort against Jeri-Show at SummerSlam 2009.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
