10 Best WWE Tales From Wrestlers' Court
6. Melina Is Humiliated
If there's any Diva on the roster who's ever deserved the expression 'nuclear heat' applied to her though, it's definitely Melina Perez.
Melina was brought into wrestlers' court in early 2006 due to her prima donna behaviour. Just because the female talent were referred to as 'Divas' doesn't mean they're expected to behave like them, and until her release in 2011, Melina had had real life backstage feuds and altercations with Taryn 'Tiffany' Terrell, Candice Michelle, Mickie James, Maria Kanellis, Sharmell, Lita, Brooke Adams and Trish Stratus.
Her on-off relationship with John Morrison and her dalliance with Batista were, reportedly, the only reason Melina wasn't cut far, far earlier than 2011; people were already making comparisons to the delusional Tammy 'Sunny' Sytch in 2007.
Those are all plenty of reasons for Melina's appearance in wrestlers' court, but the incident itself still leaves a bad taste in the mouth. The entire locker room was turned out for the occasion, which took place around 3am (presumably at a hotel). In a shoot interview, Paul London comments that the wrestlers in attendance were taking bets on how long it was before she'd cry with all the verbal abuse she was getting.
We're pretty sure that's not the reason that Dutch Mantel instituted wrestlers' court on the territories; for huge drunken guys to club together and try and intimidate female talent into bursting into tears. After a certain point the original offence stops being relevant
