10 Best WWE TLC Matches EVER - According To Dave Meltzer

1. Edge & Christian Vs The Hardy Boyz Vs The Dudley Boyz (WrestleMania 17, ****3/4)

Ryback Seth Rollins
WWE Network

Finding new beauty in hideous destruction, WrestleMania 17's TLC 2 is one of the great wrestling sequels on a show that already has possibly the greatest of all time.

It is justifiably remembered most for a legendary scene in which Edge soars through the sky at waiting target Jeff Hardy, but the spot was emblematic of the story the match tried worked diligently to tell.

Like the original it had to work extra-hard to follow, TLC2 was far from just a sequence of increasingly terrifying spots. The sequences and bumps were still mortifyingly dangerous, but they were again drawn together convincingly as the desperation of each performer grew. Jeff hung because he'd climbed a ladder before his grounding was lifted away, whilst Edge saw an opportunity to swat the 'Charismatic Enigma' away from his title and took it.

Neatly involving Rhyno, Lita and Spike Dudley as the respective run-in buddies of the three teams, the match afforded big spots for all of them, including Lita almost removing the 'Manbeast's head with a steel chair.

The three would have to go at it once more alongside Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit in the controversial unadvertised TLC3 a few months later, but they'd never come together as a six again. This Dallas showdown was a perfect sendoff.
