In 1995, WWE debuted perhaps the most creative and audacious show opening in wrestling history. Until this point, show intros were typically a series of highlights stitched together with some graphics and an instrumental theme thrown over the top. In 1995, under the creative direction of telvision visionary David Sahadi, Raw took the action to the roof of Titan Tower, and recorded what today still stands as one of the most innovative intros of all time. In fact, for the first twenty seconds of the intro, it's not even clear that we're watching a wrestling show. Looking more like the intro to NYPD Blue, police helicopters circle around what looks to be a riot on the streets below as cops and patrol cars raise to control the chaos. Just when we think we may have accidentally stumbled onto the latest episode of CSI, the police helicopter shines a spotlight onto the roof of WWE's headquarters to reveal Shawn Michaels literally dancing in the moonlight. We then learn that there is a full blown wrestling event taking place on the rooftop completely with commentators, cheerleaders, and Michael "Dok Hendrix" Hayes leading a live band. Seriously folks, if this one didn't get you pumped for the next sixty minutes it's clear that you had some issues. Trivia: This footage would be recycled several times by WWE's production team, including entrance videos for DeGeneration X and The Rock. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yfefn4lSbd0
