10 Best WWE Wrestlers From Chicago
2. Larry Zbyszko
'The Living Legend' wasn’t given that nickname for nothing. His accomplishments are vast, and span over decades, including winning championships in the WWWF during the 1970s and the NWA and AWA during the '80s. Born Lawrence Whistler in Chicago, Zbyszko has earned multiple 5-star matches with the likes of Ric Flair and Rick Rude, and was even voted the Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s “Most Hated Wrestler” of 1980. Zbyszko became a regular in World Championship Wrestling, and eventually found his way to the announcing table alongside Tony Schiavone on WCW Monday Nitro in 1996.
Zbyszko even wrestled the likes of A.J. Styles when he joined TNA in 2003, in a stipulation match where Zbyszko would end up as Styles's manager for a short period of time. Zbyszko would see work in the independents before signing a legends contract with the WWE in 2013.
Zbyszko certainly lives up to his nickname, and the Chicago legend was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2015 by his former trainer, mentor and rival, the legendary Bruno Sammartino.
