10 Best WWE Wrestlers Of 2016 (So Far)
3. Kevin Owens
Kevin Owens is as steady and consistent a performer as WWE could possibly hope for. A former "indie darling" who made a name for himself in promotions such as Pro Wrestling Guerilla and Ring of Honor, he has shown a knack for proving doubters and critics wrong, adapting to the WWE style of working and continuously stealing shows with the likes of Dean Ambrose, Sami Zayn, AJ Styles and Cesaro.
A workhorse for the promotion, he regularly appears on both Raw and SmackDown, excelling in everything from tone-setting opening match to televised main events against the top stars in the industry, Owens has proven to be a special talent. That he can take the most mundane of segments, add his own twist and make it compelling to the viewer is another trait that helps him succeed at a level that few could have expected given the fact that his look does not mesh with Vince McMahon's vision of a star.
Owens' style, a product of his time spent traveling the world and recognizing what works and does not with the die-hard fan base that populates so many of today's WWE events, is based in creating drama. There are tons of reversals and counters, a hefty supply of high spots and nearfalls that leave fans breathless.
It is a style that John Cena has been utilizing for years and one that other longtime WWE Superstars are finally incorporating into their matches as they seek the same reactions and emotional roller coaster that Owens regularly takes audiences on.
Almost guaranteed to elevate to the top of the card upon the upcoming brand extension, expect to see Owens become a mainstay on any "best wrestlers in WWE" list.
