10 Big Concerns Heading Into WWE Payback 2020
4. The Bray Wyatt/Braun Strowman Feud Is Exhausted At This Point
To their credit, WWE really tried to do something different with the Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt rivalry. They had interesting characters, a poetically intertwined backstory and three gimmicks for Bray Wyatt to sink his teeth into. And yet, it still ended up feeling dragged out and a little stale - something that wasn't helped by the fact that few of their matches were particularly inspiring.
That said, their Falls Count Anywhere bout at SummerSlam was actually pretty entertaining, but it should have marked the end of that program. Though throwing Roman Reigns into the fray may result in a much-needed shake-up, it prolongs an exhausted program that was finally ready to bid us adieu.
While things could wrap up at Payback, when you consider the lack of planning time the creative team has before the event and the fact that it's no longer just about Bray and Braun, there's a strong possibility that this whole convoluted mess could end dragging on past this PPV too... and nobody needs to see that.
