10 Big Concerns Heading Into WWE Royal Rumble 2021

1. The Miz Cashing In On The WWE Champion

Can you imagine the outrage if Drew McIntyre overcomes the onslaught of Goldberg only to lose the WWE Championship to The Miz cashing in his Money In The Bank contract?

What about the immediate sigh of relief if The Miz cashes in on a victorious Goldberg only for us to then realize that one of WWE's most inconsistent stories will take up residence in the main event slot? Yeah, none of those options sound ideal.

Unfortunately, the WWE creative team have made a bit of a habit out of upending anything mildly enjoyable - not-to-mention an incredibly annoying habit of being so on-the-nose about everything, spoiling surprises by having The Miz wave the contract in McIntyre's face, ramble on about how he's going to cash in for weeks, do it anyway, lose and then give him the contract back because why the heck do we need logic in storytelling?

Look, the idea of The Miz holding the Money In The Bank briefcase could actually have worked. It not only had the potential to reinvigorate a character that has grown stale in the midcard, it had potential to shake-up the same-old-same-old main event scene of Raw. Unfortunately, nothing about The Miz's current storyline has been coherent, so the notion of him cashing in on either man is more a cause for concern than Goldberg winning the WWE Championship, and that says it all, really.
