10 Big Concerns Heading Into WWE Royal Rumble 2021

9. An Unvaried Match Card

The Royal Rumble match card usually tends to be shorter than your average PPV simply because of the fact it has to house two hour-long Royal Rumble matches. And yet, one can't help but feel that 2021's match card is a little, well, flat.

We have our men's Royal Rumble match and our women's Royal Rumble match as expected and one of those bouts will close the show while the other could very well end up opening it. We also have the expected world title matches, with Drew McIntyre defending Raw's WWE Championship against Goldberg and Roman Reigns putting SmackDown's Universal Championship on the line against Kevin Owens in a Last Man Standing match.

All four of those contests have earned their place on the card but it's hard to argue that two Rumble matches and two world title matches could very well leave the event feeling a little, well, samey. With only the Women's Tag Title bout to split them up (which should take place in the middle of the event), both halves of the Royal Rumble could end up feeling a little too similar.
